The Authors Are Coming!

Ingenuity is now planning on having authors come to speak and host workshops at the Innovation Center.

“Tony Masalta came to us and suggested that we really look into having authors come out and share their words of inspiration and ideas to the Ingenuity community.  The more we thought about it, the more we saw a great opportunity to introduce ideas, thoughts and stories to people. However, we wanted to take it a step further and include a way for authors to do a hand-on workshop where we could put their ideas into practice to see how they might work,” shared Kate.

Tony explained, “Publicists are always looking for places to promote their authors.  What I see is that Ingenuity is a place where ideas can be shared, put to test and evaluated.  Having a community that can work together by incorporating in what others are discovering is a great way to connect and learn together.”

Ingenuity is now working on a program to help source what kind of authors the community would like to invite out to the Innovation Center.

“The goal is to make sure that the events we offer appeal to our community,” stated Kate.  “We love the idea of being able to feature authors both near and far to help inspire new ideas.  Right now, we are looking into technology solutions that will enable us to be able to stream workshops and events live and also be able to film events for folks to access at a later time. This is really turning into an exciting possibility that has some wonderful benefits for everyone involved.”

Ingenuity envisions authors night being a big draw for the local community in St. Helens.  “We imagine to have authors who really align with what we are building here at Ingenuity to come and support us.  We see so much opportunity to bring in resources to help create new and innovative solutions that will benefit everyone,” states Kate.
